In the early 1960’s there was a leprosy clinic at Koppam run by the CSI church. The programme of the clinic was carried out under the Christian Missionaries by Miss Dunn from England. In the beginning of 963 Miss Dunn was looking for some agency to carry out the work and meet Late Arch Bishop Benedict Mar Gregorios of Happy Memory who was the Head of Malankara Arch diocese and he agreed to carry this noble work & extended his whole heart support for the work. That was the beginning of St.John’s Health services, Pirappencode.
